Is your reptile not active and sleeping a lot more than usual?
Theres nothing to be scared about, no your reptile isnt
dying and no they are most likely not sick. Your reptile
is probably going through brumation. What is brumation?
Brumation is hybernation for reptiles. Your reptile may
look sluggish, inactive, or torpor. Brumation normally
happens during winter or periods of low tempatures,
brumation only happens to reptiles. During brumation
reptiles may stop eating and their heart and respiratory
rate slows significantly, and digestion. With digestion
slowing down that means they wont eat or defecate during
brumation. What should you do while your reptile is in
brumation? when your reptile goes into brumation you
should leave them be. The main thing you want to do is
ensure they have a constent supply of fresh water as
normal and keep their enclosure clean. It is normal for
your reptile to wake during brumation and its normal for
them to go back to sleep. I would not recomend waking your
reptile during brumation but can be done if needed.
